Before you leave
- Choose conditions and activities suited to your individual dog. Skip the outing in extreme heat.
- Call each venue. Confirm dog access, indoor seating, hours, events, and food arrangements.
- Plan parking, door-to-door access, and an easy way to leave.
- Pack a leash, waste bags, water, bowl, and familiar essentials.
- Save your vet and emergency-vet contacts.
- Arrange a sober driver or another safe ride.
Your possible stops
- The Sleepy Whale · Chandler
Confirm indoor versus outdoor dog access. Don’t assume either.
thesleepywhale.com/downtownchandler (opens in a new tab) - The Theodore · Downtown Phoenix
Ask about the dog policy for your date and any events.
thetheodore.beer (opens in a new tab) - The Wandering Tortoise · Uptown Phoenix
Confirm current access and read the posted dog rules on arrival.
At every stop
- Pause and check your dog’s comfort, the surface, and the conditions.
- Keep your dog leashed, close, and off furniture.
- Offer water and a quiet break. Leave if your dog is uncomfortable.
- Never leave your dog in a parked vehicle.
